For those of you who don't have the links to both, I'm switching back to my old LJ lilyforchrist. I decided I really wanted to revive one of them, and I liked that one best. :P It has a lot more entries than this one too. Anyway, I posted more there about the changes I made to it, so if you're interested, go read it there. :P And if you have me friended there but not here, feel free to add me there! :)

I really have been terrible about updating...I've been rather neglectful of all my blogs though. I created another LJ today though. I've been sick a lot, and I'm trying some natural and dietary things to see if that will help. I thought it would help to keep track of what I'm doing and how it makes me feel, so I started a journal for it. I might start using it for more, but I don't know yet. Anyway, here's the link: threeofseven I really do need to keep up more here too though...

So much for updating regularly...

Not a whole lot has been going on though. I'm planning a trip to San Antonio for sometime this summer, for me and some friends. That will be so much fun! We're going to tour the Alamo and go down the River Walk...I'll be meeting up with a bunch of friends from online I haven't met in person before. It's for homeschoolers, so if any of y'all happen to be interested, let me know and I'll keep you updated. :)

I'm not fully well yet, but generally, I'm doing a lot better. I still have ups and downs, but I'm feeling well a lot more than I had been. Hopefully I'll be completely well soon. :)

I need to respond to comments from my last entry...I haven't been doing so well with remembering about Livejournal!

I really did intend to keep you all updated more...I guess a lack of activity has kept me from posting much, but I should start posting again anyway. I've been wanting to write more, and maybe journaling would be a good start. I used to write in journals a lot more, but online and on paper, but I've slacked off the past several months.

First off, I haven't been doing much, on account of the fact that I'm still trying to get myself well. I went back to the doctor earlier in the week to refill a prescription, and apparently the sinus infection from four weeks ago is still hanging around, which would explain a lot of why I've been feeling so bad. That also irritates the asthma. So I've been staying on antibiotic and heavy decongestants a lot this week, which has been rough, but I think it's helping me. I've had a rough night, but also felt better this morning than I've been feeling, so maybe it's a good sign, and hopefully I'll be feeling better sometime over this next week.

I had so many writing goals for the month! I wanted to get a ton written in February, but between being sick and being drugged because I was sick, that hasn't exactly happened. Hopefully I can get more written throughout this month. I'm making it a goal anyway...maybe if I post about it here, I'll be more inclined to do so.

99% cocoa dark chocolate is good, especially with coffee. It's very strong though, so I would recommend working your way up to it in degrees. Wal-mart has Ghirardhelli 60% cocoa with ground espresso beans, and I think that's the best chocolate I've ever had. Absolutely fabulous. I don't know if you can get the 99% stuff here in America though. I have friends in high places... ;) Well, Europe, really. That's where mine came from. :P

I'm tired of computer problems. Our router died earlier this week, and our modem was acting up as well. They were almost five years old and really needed to be fixed anyway, but it was still frustrating, especially considering I spent three hours trying to get the new router working before I found out the modem was having trouble too. But my laptop is now wireless, which makes me happy! *grin* Maybe I'll post more about the other computer problems later. I'm more cheered up right now and don't want to think about that anymore. :P

I need something to read. Of course, I have plenty of books I haven't read or want to read again, but I'm indecisive and none of them interest me at the moment. Though I would like to read The Silmarillion again. Maybe I'll read that one.

I'm writing a short story in the style of Wodehouse. It's rather fun, though I haven't gotten very far. I decided I wanted to have a go at that writing style, so we'll see how that turns out! I've read a bit of Wodehouse before, then this week, have started watching Jeeves and Wooster. Hugh Laurie is brilliant as Wooster! He's really a great actor, and does the role perfectly. :)

I'm getting rather sleepy now, so toodle pip!

Happy to be breathing...

Let me start this out by saying that I'm okay, obviously still alive and breathing, and none too worse for the wear(well, aside from the scars and torture and assimilation...j/k!). It wasn't that serious really. ;) Just didn't want to freak anyone out by mentioning I had to go to the hospital this morning. But, like I said, I'm fine now! In fact, I feel better than I've felt in days. I was contemplating whether or not to write about this, as I really don't want to sound like I'm complaining or always be talking about being sick, but then I figured I'd go ahead and share it anyway. It sorta explains how I'm feeling better than I was too, so that's good at least.

By now, I suppose you're wondering just why it is I went to the hospital. Well, my asthma had been flaring up over the last several days, and I was having trouble keeping it under control. I've never had to go in to the hospital for it before, or have any breathing treatments, so that was a first for me. I tried throughout the evening to keep my breathing as controlled as possible, but by about 1:30am, it became apparent nothing was helping, and I was only getting worse, so my mom and I got ready for a trip to the hospital. We got there about 2am, and after too lengthy of a procedure, they got me in a room and started giving me a breathing treatment. They also took my blood pressure and left the thing from that on my arm, and put something else on my finger to check my blood oxygen level. It was a red light they taped to the top of my left index finger. All the while, I was holding this tube like thing up to my mouth and breathing through it. I felt like I was turning into a Borg!

So the nurse got me hooked up to all those gadgets, then left the room. About that time, I noticed I was feeling rather odd. Things started getting a bit hazy, and my mom said I went white. It started to click that one feels that way before fainting, about the time my mom had me lie back and got me a cup of water. I managed to hang on and didn't actually pass out, but I came pert near close. :P I recovered from that and finished the breathing treatment, and a respiratory specialist person came in talking about needing a blood sample. I've had blood taken from my arm before, but this was an arterial blood gas from my wrist. I thought I'd probably end up passing out from that one, but I actually didn't feel the least bit faint from that. Then I went through two more breathing treatments, then they x-rayed my lungs to make sure I wasn't getting pneumonia or anything. Thankfully, my lungs are clear, so that's not an issue.

By that point, I was feeling much better and breathing better than I had in days, and starting to get a bit slap happy from lack of sleep combined with the drugs. :P My mom was tired and getting slap happy as well, so we had quite a time of it waiting for two more hours before they let me go. :P First we talked over all our favorite Star Trek episodes, then got onto music, and the later it got, the sillier we got. We started singing that song from Jaws that they sing on the boat..."Show me the way to go home...I'm tired and I wanna go to bed." We threw a few other songs in there as well, ranging from Peter Pan songs to Hava Nagila to Gilbert and Sullivan. Then we started cleaning up the room, picking up the trash they left around and pens they left out, and things they left hanging out of cabinets. Then I think the medicine started to take its full force, as I started laughing uncontrollably over the whole situation, and couldn't even talk because I couldn't stop laughing long enough to say anything. I calmed down a bit though, and by about 7am, we finally got the discharge orders and I was free from the Borg! I got unassimilated and was on my way home. I did get a prescription for a nebulizer, so if I have that much trouble breathing again, I can treat it at home. Hopefully no more hospitals for me!

I fell asleep about 9am, slept until 12:30, and have taken a couple of naps since. My breathing is better than it's been in a while, definitely better than it's been all week. My chest muscles are all quite sore now, but that's the biggest complaint my lungs have at the moment, which is great! :D Hopefully those breathing treatments were what I needed to get me past this, and with plenty of rest, I'm hoping I'm on the road to recovery. :D As much as I'm tempted to do all sorts of things now that I'm feeling better, I'm taking it easy and resting up. But hopefully I'll be up and about again before long, and I'll be well again soon. :D And hopefully I haven't rambled on here for too long. :P I've tried to cut it down a bit, but I can ramble on quite a while once I get started.

I'll probably (hopefully) write up a real entry soon, but for now, here are some quiz results, because I'm bored and have a headache and trying to entertain myself. :P

An Update

I haven't been keeping up here very well...I hope to rectify that though and start keeping up better. :)

This is my first post from my new laptop!! I got it Thursday night. I love it!! :D It's wonderful, and I love having a laptop. And it's so much better than my old computer! I've been transferring files, downloading stuff, and ripping music to this computer. I love it. :D I named her Ezri, after a character from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I love my new computer! I thought of something that would be rather amusing to try...It would be fun to get pictures of my laptop and carry them in my purse, then when I meet someone, I can say, "Do you want to see pictures of my baby?" and pull out my laptop pictures. That would be too much fun.

It's been an interesting adjustment, trying to get used to the keyboard and touchpad on the laptop. The touchpad is very sensitive, and sometimes I click things twice without meaning to, or click places without trying, or accidently move the cursor around and click things with my hand while I'm typing. Then there have been a few times I kept trying to click the right key and it just wouldn't work, no matter how many times I tapped it...then I realized I was tapping my right finger on the pad instead of clicking the button. The keyboard is different as well, but I like it. And it's nice being able to move around and sit on my bed or on the floor or at the desk...I love having a laptop!

I've been getting plenty of rest and taking things easy, trying not to do too much. I think I am getting well though. Overall, I'm feeling better than I was and feel up to do more.

I've also been working on backing up files from an old computer we have, then I'm going to wipe the hard drive and reinstall things and see what I can do with it. It will be good to keep around in case we ever need it.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful new year so far!

Thank you for the prayers! The doctor doesn't think it's pneumonia, though she did ask if I've had that before when I told her my symptoms, and said I have a sinus infection and the beginnings of bronchitis. She put me on an antibiotic and a steroid burst for my lungs, to help my breathing. There's the possibility of it turning into pneumonia, but hopefully since I caught it early, that won't happen. It's good I went in when I did, and maybe getting on this medicine will keep it from developing into anything worse.
Hey...Could y'all please be praying for me? I caught a cold right after Thanksgiving, then two and a half weeks later, got over it, and caught the flu the next day. Well, I thought I was getting over the flu, but I'm sick again. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow, because I'm worried it's turned into pneumonia. That often follows the flu...a person will feel they're better for a day or so, then get stabbing pains in their chest, a productive cough, and feel bad again. That's exactly what I'm doing, and I have a few other symptoms as well, such as the chills. Right now, I'm wearing a sweater, jeans, and two pairs of socks, and under a blanket, and I'm still cold. Especially since I have asthma, this could be pretty bad for me. I'd really appreciate prayer! I'm trying hard not to worry about this, but I'm not being too successful at that right now.
